Jonathan Dunitz

Jonathan Dunitz serves as Counsel at Verrill Dana, LLP since August 2013, focusing on renewable energy development representation before the Maine Public Utilities Commission and working with water districts and utilities on regulatory matters. Dunitz has a diverse legal background, having previously held the position of Senior Counsel at Friedman Gaythwaite Wolf until its merger with Verrill Dana, with a litigation practice that included insurance coverage, commercial litigation, family law, and appellate work. Additional experience includes serving as a member of the Board of Trustees for The Salt Institute for Documentary Studies and operating an independent legal research contracting business. Dunitz began legal career roles as an Associate at Friedman & Babcock, Of Counsel at The Bennett Law Firm, and a paralegal at Herzfeld + Rubin, P.C. An accomplished academic, Dunitz earned a Juris Doctor, Magna Cum Laude, from Syracuse University College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Music from Ithaca College.
