Matt Penfold

Matt Penfold is a co-founder and CCO at Verse Inc., a company focused on providing SaaS solutions for clean power management since July 2022. Prior to this role, Matt served as VP Commercial for Fluence Digital, specializing in SaaS wholesale market optimization for utility-scale generation and storage from October 2020 to May 2022. Previously, Matt was the Chief Commercial Officer at Advanced Microgrid Solutions, which was later acquired by Fluence, from January 2018 to October 2020. Matt began a career at Bain & Company as a Manager in the utilities and clean energy practice, serving clients across several regions from January 2009 to January 2018. Matt holds a BEng Hons in Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering and a BCom from the University of Melbourne, participated in a student exchange year at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and earned an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business.
