James Bell

James Bell has extensive experience in project management, DevSecOps, and software development. Beginning in 2021, they currently serve as Director Project Management Office and Managing Consultant DevSecOps at VerSprite Cybersecurity. Prior to this, they were DevOps Manager at Oracle from 2007 to 2021. During this time, they led a Tiger team of specialists to migrate complex applications from on-premise to the cloud, interacted with functional peer group managers during sprints, and provided strategic project updates to senior management. James was also responsible for software development tasks associated with developing, debugging operating systems, databases, build and deployments, OCI migration, provisioning, and automation. From 1997 to 2007, they worked at PeopleSoft, Inc. as a Senior Principal Application Developer, PSR, where they developed automation tests in Selenium using Java language, developed test scenarios using Cucumber in Gherkin language, and worked on a test automation framework using Maven, Selenium, Cucumber, and Java. From 1990 to 1997, they worked at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency as a Senior Oracle Database Administrator, where they provided DBA and System Administrator support for Sybase Replication to Oracle RDBMS, data migration, data mapping, maintenance, and script design. Finally, from 1982 to 1990, they served in the US Army as a Logistics Specialist, providing supply and logistics management instruction for enlisted, noncommissioned officers, and selected civilian personnel.

James Bell has a Certified degree in Information Technology from Howard College and is also an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate from Amazon Web Services (AWS), obtained in June 2021.
