James S.

James S. began their career in 2011 as a Scheduling Coordinator at Gyeonggi English Village. In this role, they were responsible for producing daily, weekly, and monthly school schedules. James also conducted penetration testing on a Linux-based project management database and cloud file-sharing service for use on the company network, where they discovered and reported a 0-day that allows for shell access. In 2014, James S. joined VerSprite Security as a Senior Security Consultant on the offensive security team. In this role, they were responsible for deepfake video and voice generation for social engineering, experimenting with machine learning to assist in password attacks, security research, automation and methodology development for efficient and consistent engagements, red teaming research, tool development, and execution, network and web application penetration testing, physical security testing, social engineering, IoT and embedded systems security testing, and cryptanalysis.

James S. obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mathematics from Georgia State University from 2003 to 2008. In 2013, they obtained an Offensive Security Certified Professional certification from Offensive Security in June and an Offensive Security Certified Expert certification from Offensive Security in October. In 2019, they obtained an IntelTechniques Privacy Course certification from IntelTechniques.com in January.
