David Sommer

David Sommer, P.E. is a Senior Engineer and Senior Project Manager at The Vertex Companies LLC since June 2021. Prior to this role, David served as the Director of Facilities and Grounds at Penland School of Crafts from February 2012 to April 2021, overseeing the maintenance of campus buildings and grounds and the design and construction of new facilities in line with the Campus Master Plan. David's career began at ATC Associates, where David worked as a Project Manager from September 2002 to February 2012. David holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, obtained between 1996 and 1999.
