Alex Edwards

Alex Edwards has extensive experience in aerospace engineering, currently serving as the Head of Airframe Design at Vertical Aerospace since February 2020, where responsibilities have included roles as Deputy Chief Engineer and Chief Design Engineer. Previously, Alex held the position of Engineering Project Lead at Cranfield Aerospace Solutions from November 2012 to January 2020, overseeing the development of a full-scale eVTOL aircraft demonstrator and leading the design for retrofitting a commuter aircraft with electric propulsion. Earlier experience includes positions as a Senior Stress Engineer, Compliance Verification Engineer, and Mechanical Design Engineer at Lockheed Martin UK - Ampthill from January 2009 to November 2012. Alex holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Aerospace Engineering from The University of Manchester, completed in 2006.
