James Shaffer

James Shaffer has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. James is currently the Co-Founder and Director of Quality Assurance at Remedy Technology since June 2022. Prior to that, they worked as the Director of Quality Assurance at Vertigo Music | App starting in September 2015.

From April 2011 to September 2015, James served as the QA Manager at ExamOne, where they were responsible for all aspects of quality in a complex 80+ application SOA environment. James also managed the QA team and oversaw the deployment of applications to production.

Before that, from April 2001 to April 2010, they held multiple roles at CA Technologies. James served as the QA Manager, where they managed various coworkers in local and remote settings and was responsible for all aspects of QA for multiple testing projects. In addition, they managed the initial implementation of an automated build and certification environment. James also served as a Systems Administrator, where they were in charge of the IT infrastructure for the entire company. James designed and built an innovative offsite backup solution. Furthermore, they worked as a QA Engineer, where they significantly modified and automated imaging solutions and created the design for a companywide automated test lab.

James also has experience outside the technology industry. From October 2004 to March 2010, they co-owned Valentino's Take 'n Bake Pizza, a successful take and bake pizzeria. This experience allowed him to develop comprehensive business acumen in areas such as customer service, marketing, accounting, and personnel management.

Earlier in their career, they worked as a Network Administrator at BodyTrends from March 2000 to March 2001, where they handled the construction and maintenance of high-volume server arrays and administration of web presence. James also worked as a Technician at Gorge Networks from November 1998 to March 2000, where they were responsible for IIS administration and wireless LAN/WAN implementation.

Furthermore, James has experience at Egghead.com, where they served as the Lead Systems Operator from December 1993 to October 1998. James managed the daily function of all systems in the data center. Additionally, they worked as a Call Center Supervisor, where they created a product specialist group and designed a compensation plan.

James Shaffer completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies in 1993 at The University of Kansas. Additionally, they obtained the certification of Certified Tester, Foundation Level from the ISTQB - International Software Testing Qualifications Board in September 2009. James also holds a Scrum Master certification from the Scrum Alliance, although the specific month and year of obtaining this certification are unknown.
