Wei Yang

Product Engineer at Vesper

Wei Yang has a diverse work experience spanning from 2011 to 2019. From 2011 to 2014, Wei Yang worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Science and Technology Beijing. During this time, Wei Yang developed testing software to solve the problem of dynamic balance of high speed turbine compressor, designed roll mechanisms in wind tunnels using CAD and Solidworks, and was responsible for integrating systems to control the position and speed of roll by using PID control. From 2014 to 2018, Wei Yang worked as a Research Assistant at Binghamton University. During this time, Wei Yang developed a nonlinear vibration resonator with piezoelectric material under harmonic and random vibration for wireless sensor and other MEMS applications, established mathematical modeling and solved PDEs analytically and numerically by Matlab, and simulated the magnetic force and structural dynamics of systems by Comsol and Ansys. In 2018, Wei Yang worked as an Electro Acoustic Engineer Intern at Knowles Corporation. During this time, Wei Yang performed acoustic and vibration measurements by AP, B&K, GRAS, LDV etc., developed analytical and FE models to gain insights of the MEMS microphone design, and designed and performed experiments to characterize the microphone and to verify model results. Finally, from 2019 to the present, Wei Yang has been working as a Product Engineer at Vesper, where Wei Yang manages reliability test plans for new products, including look-ahead reliability studies during prototyping phase and full qualification during release to production phase, and leads failure analysis investigations using structure problem-solving methods to engage a cross-functional team to diagnose, resolve, and prevent future problems.

Wei Yang received their Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from the University of Science and Technology Beijing in 2011. Wei then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same university, which they completed in 2014. In 2018, Wei Yang earned a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Binghamton University.
