Mark Gies is a solar energy advisor who has over 25 years of experience in the industry. Mark currently works as an advisor at VesprSolar, and has previously held positions such as Director of Sales and Products at Centroplan USA, UL 2703 Standards Technical Panel Member at UL, and VP, Applications Engineering, Codes and Standards at PanelClaw, Inc.
Gies started their career in 1991 as a project engineer at TRW. Mark later became an implementation consultant at Apps4Biz and an operations manager at Cool Dog Inc. In 2004, they transitioned to the financial sector, working as a manager in the financial planning and analysis group at Investors Bank & Trust.
In 2006, Gies became the COO of Inventor's Workshop, where they remained until 2009 when they joined Solar Energy Industries Association. Mark stayed with SEIA until 2016 when they took on the role of Director of Sales and Products at Centroplan USA. Gies left Centroplan in 2019 to become an advisor at VesprSolar.
Mark Gies attended Phillips Exeter Academy for their high school diploma. Mark then went on to Dartmouth College for their BA and ME. Finally, they attended Babson F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business for their MBA.
