Mark Irons

Mark Irons has extensive experience in intellectual property, particularly in patents, with a focus on mechanical and rotor technologies. Beginning as a Partner at Lloyd Wise from August 1994 to 2007, Mark specialized in China patent matters while managing the Hong Kong office. From 2007 to January 2009, Mark served as a Partner at Marks & Clerk, conducting global patent clearance studies and handling contentious work related to patent oppositions. Mark held various roles at Vestas, starting in March 2009 as Manager of the Patents Department before progressing to Director and then Vice President of IPR until April 2024. Responsibilities encompassed patent strategy, IPR legal functions, and innovation support. Mark's educational background includes a Master of Science in Geophysics from Imperial College London and a Master of Arts in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University.
