Veteran Cancer Network (VCN) is a veteran-led nonprofit organization focused on advancing earlier, risk-based cancer detection and improving health outcomes for veterans and their families.

Veterans face increased cancer risk and earlier onset due to service-related exposures, environmental hazards, and occupational risk factors. However, cancer screening and care pathways within veteran healthcare systems often fail to reflect these realities. VCN works to address these gaps through advocacy, awareness, and cross-sector collaboration.

Our work focuses on:

Veteran health advocacy centered on earlier, risk-based cancer screening

Public health awareness and education related to service-connected cancer risk

Storytelling and lived experience to elevate veteran and caregiver voices

Partnership development across nonprofits, healthcare, research, and policy communities

Supporting national awareness initiatives such as Pedal for Impact, our flagship advocacy campaign

Veteran Cancer Network does not provide direct medical services or duplicate existing programs. Instead, we strengthen the veteran health ecosystem by connecting veterans and caregivers to trusted resources while amplifying collective voices to support systems-level change.

Our work is rooted in lived experience, accountability, and the belief that veteran healthcare decisions should be guided by risk and exposure, not outdated assumptions. Through collaboration and advocacy, we aim to improve early detection, inform policy conversations, and support better long-term outcomes for veterans nationwide.
