David McTiernan has worked in various roles in the music and media industry. David started their career as a Digital Media Intern at VEVO in 2009, where they recommended marketing tactics and supported the digital team's efforts. David later became a Marketing Intern at Touchtunes in 2010, where they developed advertising materials and researched effective communication methods.
In 2011, David joined Shore Fire Media as an Account Executive, securing national coverage for clients such as Bruce Springsteen and Bonnie Raitt. David then moved on to The Middle Eight, an indie rock band based in Brooklyn, where they produced, managed, booked, and performed as a member. During their time with the band, they released two albums and toured the northeastern U.S.
From 2014 to 2016, David served as an Adjunct Faculty at New York University, advising seniors on Capstone projects and participating in panel-style Q&A sessions on post-graduate work in the music and entertainment fields. David then joined Wildflower Records as an Associate Manager, where they developed and executed marketing efforts and coordinated a national tour for Judy Collins.
David's career in the music industry continued to progress, and they joined VEVO in 2013 as the Programming & Industry Relations Manager. David gradually moved up the ranks and held positions such as Senior Manager, Director of Music & Talent, and Senior Director of Artist & Label Relations, before becoming the Head of Artist/Label Relations, Digital Marketing in August 2021. In their current role, they oversee Vevo's artist, label, and manager relations team and guides the company's social and digital marketing strategy through global campaigns.
In addition to their work experience, David also served as a Facilitator and Former Alumni Association President at Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership from 2005 to 2012.
David McTiernan received a BFA in Recorded Music; Entertainment, Media, & Technology from New York University from 2007 to 2010. Prior to that, they obtained a Jazz Certificate with Honors from the New England Conservatory of Music Preparatory School, where they studied from 2004 to 2007.
