Phil Venables is an accomplished executive in cybersecurity and technology risk management, currently serving as Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer for Google Cloud since December 2020. Additionally, Venables is a member of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, providing expert advice on science and technology policy. With extensive board experience at organizations like HackerOne, Interos Inc, and Veza, Venables has previously held senior positions at Goldman Sachs, including Operating Partner in Private Equity and Chief Information Security Officer. Earlier career roles include leadership in information security at Deutsche Bank and Standard Chartered Bank, alongside foundational experiences in software engineering. Venables holds both an M.Sc in Computation from the University of Oxford and a B.Sc (Hons) in Computer Science from the University of York.
