Fred Bryant

Fred Bryant began his career at Virginia Housing in 1993 as Associate Counsel. He was soon promoted to Senior Counsel, Associate General Counsel and then to Deputy General Counsel. He was named Chief Counsel in 2021.

For Fred, being Chief Counsel is fulfilling because he’s able to use his legal and real estate training to support the affordable housing mission. He most enjoys working with the dedicated associates on innovative and transformative programs and initiatives.

Fred earned a BA in economics from Hampden-Sydney College and his JD from the University of Richmond. Before joining Virginia Housing, he worked as a law clerk on the Virginia Court of Appeals in Richmond, for the U.S. District Court in Abingdon and in private practice.
