Peter Tompa

Peter Tompa is a professor of biochemistry at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, where they teach courses in bioinformatics and intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs) and have supervised numerous PhD and MSc candidates. They currently serve as a scientific advisor at Hun-Ren TKI and co-founded both NEQ Bio and New Equilibrium Biosciences, focusing on IDPs in relation to disease mechanisms and novel cancer therapies. Peter's extensive research over more than 20 years has significantly advanced the understanding of IDPs, leading to over 200 publications and a distinguished presence in the scientific community, including invitations to over 100 international conferences. They earned their PhD in biochemistry and enzymology from ELTE University in 1991.
