René Custers

René Custers is the Regulatory & Responsible Research Manager at VIB, where they have been active since 1997, focusing on biosafety, regulatory matters, research integrity, and bioethics. With a Master's degree in Molecular Biology from Wageningen Universiteit en Researchcentrum, René began their career in biotechnology in 1992 and has held various positions, including Secretary of the EBSA European BioSafety Association and policy assistant at COGEM. Throughout their career, René has aimed to promote responsible scientific practices and engage in public affairs related to biotechnology.
