Genine Johnson

Genine Johnson serves as the Chief Communications Officer for the Department of Government Services since October 2023, while also holding the position of Director of Media and Strategic Communication at the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning since December 2021. Previously, Genine was a Board Member at the Music and the Brain Foundation and engaged in strategic communication and stakeholder engagement at Bastion Reputation Management from October 2019 to December 2021. Genine has extensive experience in senior leadership roles, including as Chief Communications Officer at the Digital Transformation Agency, and directed media and engagement strategies for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. With a strong background in issues management and stakeholder engagement, Genine has also held significant positions at the Murray-Darling Basin Authority and the Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts.
