John Batho is currently the Deputy Secretary of Digital Transformation at the Department of Government Services. They previously served as the Deputy Secretary for Consumer Affairs, Liquor and Gambling Regulation & Dispute Services at the Department of Justice and Community Safety in Victoria from 2021 to 2023. Batho has held various leadership roles within the Department of Premier and Cabinet (Vic), including Assistant Director positions in the Family Violence Reform unit and NDIS Reform Branch. They also practiced as a lawyer at Gadens in 2010 and earned a Bachelor of Laws from Monash University and a Masters of Public Administration from ANZSOG.
