Simon Preston

Simon Preston has over 20 years of experience in the IT field, with a strong focus on infrastructure management. Simon is currently serving as the Infrastructure Manager at Victrex, a position they have held since August 2022. Prior to this role, Simon spent almost nine years at St. Mary's Catholic Academy as the IT Network Manager, overseeing the school's network operations from October 2013 to July 2022. Before joining St. Mary's Catholic Academy, Simon worked at St. Mary's Catholic College as an IT Technician for over eight years, from August 2005 to October 2013. Simon began their career as an IT Support Assistant at SPS EU Ltd in March 2003, where they provided support for computer systems and users across multiple sites, maintained server hardware and software, and managed various IT tasks, such as hardware purchasing and software troubleshooting.

Simon Preston attended Blackpool & the Fylde College from 2000 to 2002, where they obtained an ONC degree in Electrical Engineering. Following that, from 2002 to 2004, they pursued a Higher National Diploma in Computing at the same college. In 1994, Simon Preston completed their secondary education at Millfield High School, achieving 10 GCSEs, 7 of which were A*-C, including all core subjects. In 2013, they attended Prometric and obtained a certification in MCTS - Windows 7, Configuration. Additionally, Simon Preston has acquired several certifications, including VMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization in 2023, ITIL v4 Foundation in 2022, Microsoft SC-900 - Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals in 2022, and Microsoft AZ-900 - Azure Fundamentals in 2021.
