Eric A. Hoffman

Eric A. Hoffman, PhD, FERS, ATSF, is a distinguished academic and researcher at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, where Eric A. has served as Professor of Radiology, Biomedical Engineering, and Medicine since October 1992. Leading a fully NIH-funded research group, Hoffman oversees a team of faculty, graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and technical staff. In addition, Hoffman is the Director of the Advanced Pulmonary Physiomics Imaging Laboratory and has held various academic titles within the Department of Radiology. As a founder of VIDA Diagnostics, Hoffman contributes his expertise to the company while maintaining a full-time role at the University. Previously, Hoffman founded Marval Biosciences and worked at the University of Pennsylvania and Mayo Clinic, where significant contributions to cardiothoracic imaging and physiology were made. Hoffman earned a PhD in Physiology from Mayo Clinic Graduate School and a BA in Physiological Psychology from Antioch College.
