Michael Werner is a national award-winning director, writer, and director of photography based in New York City. For Michael, telling stories is an art and a calling. He cares deeply about craft and meticulously tends the details. He is especially passionate about stories grounded in social issues, environment, and science, but his interests are wide and diverse. Michael’s films have earned him a National Edward R. Murrow Award for Documentary and a National American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Kavli Science Journalism Award. He has also won Emmy Awards for producing, cinematography, and editing. His work has been featured nationally and internationally through HBO Films, PBS, Nat Geo, Netflix, CBS, MSNBC, Vox, and the Cannes International Film Festival. He loves to collaborate.
