Michael Ip is an accomplished data scientist with extensive experience in machine learning and data analysis. Currently serving as Principal Data Scientist at VideoAmp since February 2021, Michael has previously held the role of Senior Data Scientist at the same company. Prior to this, Michael was a Fellow at The Data Incubator, where a public website and dashboard were developed to assist local businesses in strategic ad placement through data insights. Michael's academic background includes a PhD in Physics from UCLA and a BS in Physics from UC San Diego, with research experience as a Graduate Student Researcher at UCLA, where ion trapping experiments for quantum computation were custom designed. Additionally, Michael acted as a Teaching Assistant, enriching the educational experience by developing course materials. Early research at UC San Diego focused on the behavior of polymers in various liquids.
