In 1997, the HCMC Department of Science and Technology entrusted a project to develop management software for the Garment Industry to a group of instructors at HCMC University of Technology. This research aimed to help the Garment industry – a major export industry of Vietnam - to improve its productivity.
After successfully complete the research, in 2001, key persons of this group founded Vietsoft Co. Ltd to further develop the software to accommodate a wider variety of industries. 
Since then, Vietsoft has implemented Vietsoft ERP for Garment for many FDI and Vietnam-owned companies.
In 2004, Vietsoft released Vietsoft Ecomaint, the first CMMS software made in VN. 
In 2008, Vietsoft became an official partner of SAP – the largest ERP supplier in the world – in sale and implementation of SAP Business One, ERP solution for Small and Medium Enterprises.
Recently, Vietsoft launched SmartTrack, an automated and integrated production control system.
To this day, Vietsoft continuously grows and supplies management software to companies in many industries.
