George Cheng

CEO at Viewabo

George Cheng has a long history of work experience in a variety of roles. In 2020, they became the CEO of Viewabo, a company that enables customer support agents to request access to smartphone cameras to send real-time videos of issues. From 2012 to 2020, they worked on various tech startups, both solo and with cofounders. In 2009, they were the Senior Product Marketing Manager for the Vblock Platform at VCE, the Virtual Computing Environment Company, where they were the marketing lead for the platform from concept through high profile product launch. Also in 2009, they were the Senior Solutions Marketing Manager for EMC Global Solutions, where they marketed Microsoft SQL and SharePoint solutions based on EMC technologies. In 2007, they underwent EMC's elite marketing rotational program at EMC headquarters, gaining a breadth of experience in consumer electronics, enterprise software, and mergers and acquisitions. In 2006, they were a Web Application Developer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where they developed a secure, multi-user, file sharing application for MIT's Institute for Soldier Nanotechnologies intranet. George was also a Marketing Specialist at Oplink Communications, where they were the project lead for the overhaul of the corporate website design, usability, and content. In 2003, they were a Product Manager at Sampo Corporation, where they marketed ODM television products in the U.S. and Singapore.

George Cheng obtained a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (Computer Engineering) from the University of California, Los Angeles. George then went on to receive a Master of Science in Information Systems and a Master of Business Administration in Marketing from Boston University in 2007. George is currently pursuing a certification in Software Engineering from Harvard University.
