Jim Cummings

Jim Cummings is an Associate Professor of Emerging Media Studies, currently serving at Boston University. They have extensive experience in academia, having been a Ph.D. candidate and instructor at Stanford University from 2009 to 2015, and later contributed as an Assistant Instructor and Research Assistant at Indiana University Bloomington. They co-directed the Communication Research Center at Boston University from 2016 to 2020 and currently holds the position of Senior Vice President, Product & Design at Viewpoints AI since 2025. Cummings has also been involved in research roles at Duke University and Google [x], and was a founding member of Nourish International. Their educational pursuits include a Ph.D. in Communication with a concentration in Human-Computer Interaction from Stanford University, where they are still enrolled.
