Phil Wright started their work experience in 1988 as a Football Player and Social Justice Worker, using football as a tool for outreach, education, and social reform. Phil played and coached in various countries across three continents, including England, South Africa, Italy, Portugal, Poland, Czech Republic, and the USA. Phil also coached grassroots women's football in Lisbon, Portugal, and conducted football clinics in Alex and Soweto.
In 1997, Phil became the Managing Director of Software Engineering, a role they held until 2015. Additionally, since 2015, they have been the CEO of Vigil, a software engineering and services company that provides talent and end-to-end development services to clients.
Phil Wright attended Francis Combe School from 1981 to 1988, where they obtained their A Levels in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. Phil then enrolled at St Mary's University, Twickenham from 1988 to 1990, focusing on Movement Studies and Physics. Later, from 1992 to 1995, they pursued Biblical Studies at RBTC Johannesburg.
