Michael Rieker

Michael Rieker has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Michael currently works as part of the Mobile Surgical Resuscitation Team at VIGILINT as of March 2022. Prior to this, they held various leadership positions at Wake Forest School of Medicine, including Chair of the Department of Academic Nursing from July 2020 to April 2022 and Director of Nurse Anesthesia Education since July 2005. Michael also served as Chief Nurse Anesthetist at unity point health from September 2002 to June 2004. Before that, they worked as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist at Anesthesiology Consultants from September 2001 to September 2002, and at their own practice, Michael Rieker, CRNA, from July 1997 to September 2001. Michael began their career as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist at MOSES CONE HEALTH SYSTEM from September 1994 to July 1997, and as a Staff Nurse at Parkland Hospital from January 1991 to July 1992.

Michael Rieker earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Practice (BSN) from Penn State University between 1987 and 1990. Michael then pursued a Master of Science (MS) in Nurse Anesthetist at Rush University, completing their degree in 1994. From 2001 to 2003, Michael attended Rush University once again, this time earning a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree with a focus on Business and Leadership in Healthcare.
