Bas van der Hulst

Python Developer at VIKTOR

Bas van der Hulst started their work experience in 2010 with a 3-month internship at Global Technics, where they focused on programming scripts for automating calculations related to metal fatigue in the A340. Bas then joined Astrium in 2011 for their MSc thesis, conducting research on crack growth in a composite sandwich panel of the Ariane 5 rocket. Bas worked with the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR) and performed finite element simulations to predict crack growth in the panel. In 2012, Bas worked as a Project Engineer at Advanced Lightweight Engineering (ALE), where they collaborated with NLR, Airbus, and other renowned companies in the aerospace industry. Bas worked on various projects involving carbon fiber reinforced composites. In 2014, Bas became a Senior Structural Engineer at Heerema Marine Contractors (HMC), responsible for strength verification of offshore structures with a specialization in finite element calculations using ABAQUS. Finally, since 2018, Bas has been a Python Developer at VIKTOR.

Bas van der Hulst's education history begins in 2006 when they enrolled at Delft University of Technology for their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Aerospace Engineering, which they completed in 2009. Bas then pursued further education at the same university and obtained their Master of Science (MSc) degree in Aerospace Structures and Materials from 2009 to 2012.

In 2017, Bas van der Hulst engaged in online learning to enhance their knowledge in various fields. Bas completed a Machine Learning course and an Artificial Intelligence course, both verified by edX. Bas also undertook an online course in Computational Neuroscience from Coursera during the same year.

In addition to their formal education, Bas van der Hulst obtained several certifications. In August 2017, they completed the Artificial Intelligence certification from edX. In December 2017, they acquired a certification in Machine Learning from the same institution. Later, in April 2018, they obtained a certification in UML Class Diagrams for Software Engineering from edX.

Overall, Bas van der Hulst's educational background demonstrates a strong foundation in aerospace engineering combined with a pursuit of knowledge in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and computational neuroscience.
