Sharon Somekh

Dr. Sharon Somekh is Chief Parenting Advisor to Villyge and the CEO and Founder of Raiseology, an online parenting support system that offers virtual parenting courses, personal coaching, and a weekly parenting podcast. Dr. Somekh is also a pediatrician and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).

During her decade of practicing pediatrics, Dr. Somekh genuinely enjoyed her interactions with parents: answering their questions, calming their fears and supporting them through some tougher moments. Dr. Somekh career experience recently culminated in the reorientation of her career to work directly with parents.

Dr. Somekh’s focus is now on teaching parents to be less fearful and more engaged, while empowering them to raise independent and resilient children. In sharing her philosophy, her goal is to help parents enjoy parenting more, while simultaneously preparing their children for a bright future—all with a focus on helping parents raise responsible, compassionate adults.

Dr. Somekh graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Psycho-Biology from the State University of New York at Binghamton. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY, where she also completed her pediatric residency.
