Brian Hearn

Brian Hearn is an accomplished chemist with extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, specializing in oncology therapeutics and drug discovery. Currently serving as Vice President of Chemistry at Vilya since May 2023, Hearn previously held the position of Vice President of Medicinal Chemistry at Olema Oncology from 2020 to 2023, focusing on small molecule oncology therapeutics. Hearn's earlier roles include Principal Scientist and Associate Director of Chemistry at ProLynx LLC, where platform technology for drug half-life extension was developed, and Staff Scientist at the University of California, San Francisco, contributing to early-stage drug discovery. Hearn also served as Senior Scientist at Kosan Biosciences, leading the optimization of polyketide natural products. Academic credentials include an NIH Postdoctoral Fellowship in Organic Chemistry from Stanford University and a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Notre Dame, alongside a cum laude B.S. in Chemistry from the University of South Alabama.
