Originally founded in the summer of 2007 by a college student who couldn't make sense of textbook prices, and the inefficiencies that seemed to be driving them up. He proposed that renting textbooks might be part of the answer. The concept took off, creating one of the fastest growing companies in America and forever changing the rules of the ten billion dollar higher education content industry.

Vindy was initially created as a marketplace where college stores could buy and sell course materials directly between one another. It has since expanded to working with hundreds of colleges and universities in alternative sourcing from online marketplaces and peer stores.
