John Trest attended the Academy of Art University from 1999 to 2000, studying Digital Arts. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Med Biology from Birmingham-Southern College, where they studied General Biology and Fine Art from 1992 to 1996. In addition to their education, John holds certifications such as the Certified Professional in Talent Development from ATD CI, obtained in April 2018, and the PMP - Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute, obtained in October 2014. John also completed certificates in "Designing for Behavior Change" and "Getting Started with Gamification" from The eLearning Guild in 2017.
