Mark Eisner

Mark Eisner serves as the Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Vir Biotechnology, Inc., beginning in June 2024. Previously, Mark held notable positions including Chief Medical Officer at Sonoma Biotherapeutics, Inc., and Executive Vice President, Chief Medical Officer at FibroGen, Inc. Mark's extensive experience at Genentech involved leadership roles overseeing global clinical development in various therapeutic areas, including immunology and infectious diseases. Mark's academic background includes over two decades as a Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, along with significant contributions to clinical research in obstructive lung disease. Education credentials include an AB in Human Biology from Stanford University, an MD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and an MPH in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the University of California, Berkeley.
