Luis Lopera

Luis Lopera is a Lead Thermal & Fluids Engineer at Hyperloop One since June 2021, specializing in the development of 2D and 3D CFD models for Hyperloop pod vehicle motion and leading thermal and fluid analysis for electrical motor designs. Prior to this role, Luis contributed as a Thermal Engineer II, performing thermal finite element analysis and developing numerical models for electromagnetic actuators. Luis holds a Bachelor of Technology in Automotive & Vehicle Technology from McMaster University, where experiences included roles as an M. A. Sc. Candidate, Sessional Instructor, Teaching Assistant, and Research Assistant in various engineering projects. During an earlier position at TRIUMF, Luis conducted electro-mechanical simulations and developed electrostatic models for high voltage electrical assemblies.
