Michael Friedlander

VP, Health Sciences & Technology at Virginia Tech

Michael Friedlander is the Vice President for Health Sciences and Technology at Virginia Tech. Michael also serves as the Executive Director of the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and Research Institute. Prior to joining Virginia Tech, they were a Professor and Chairman of the Department of Neuroscience at Baylor College of Medicine, where they also served as the Director of Neuroscience Initiatives.

Dr. Friedlander has made significant contributions to the field of neuroscience, particularly in the areas of Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease. Michael has published over 200 scientific articles and has been awarded numerous grants for their research. In addition, they have served on the boards of several professional organizations, including the Society for Neuroscience and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
