Botros is a scientist and entrepreneur with interests in healthcare technologies and digital therapeutics. He left his home in Aleppo, Syria ๐ธ๐พ on the cusp of the Syrian crisis when he was 16, starting a new life in upstate New York. Since completing his education, Botros has set out to advance healthcare technologies, particularly to help underserved, vulnerable, and chronically ill populations. He co-founded Vironix during the Covid-19 pandemic to help minimize infection spread and improve clinical outcomes by providing patients with access to personalized, at-home decision support tools.
Botros has deep sophistication in the building and execution of production-grade machine-learning algorithms and the design, management, and development of mobile and web products. Botros completed his Ph.D. in Biology from the University at Albany, where he developed novel methodologies to study viral RNA structure & function. In his downtime, he enjoys traveling, trail-running, and ascending tall mountains.
