Darko Cerdic

Darko Cerdic has over 13 years of work experience in the software engineering field. In 2006, they began their career as an Associate Lecturer at the University of Split. In 2007, they co-founded Husar and served as the CTO. From 2009 to 2011, they worked as a Senior Developer and Solution Architect at Infodom. Darko then moved on to Where (Paypal) as a Senior Developer and Software Architect from 2011 to 2013. From 2013 to 2015, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer and Architect at Neogov. Darko then joined Toptal as a Senior Software Engineer from 2015 to 2019. In 2019, they became the CTO of Husar d.o.o. and in 2020, they were contracted to FAANG company as a Software Engineering Lead. In this role, they designed and developed robust, scalable, cloud-based analytics solutions to support multiple needs for business stakeholders. Darko also led a back-end team in a microservice-heavy environment. Darko has also spearheaded process improvements, leading teams that designed and implemented internal tools for evaluating ML models that reduced test times by up to 95%.

Darko Cerdic obtained a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in Engineering Physics/Applied Physics from the Wessex Institute of Technology, Southampton UK in 2008. Darko also holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Computer Engineering from the University of Split, Rector's Office. Darko has also obtained certifications from Coursera, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and other institutions, including DeepLearning.AI TensorFlow Developer (2021), R Programming by Johns Hopkins University (2020), AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (2021), IBM Certified Solution Designer - Object Oriented Analysis and Design, and Sun Certified Java Programmer.
