Yevhen Duma has extensive experience in the field of DevOps, starting with their role as a Senior System Analyst/DevOps engineer at Accenture in 2015. During their time there, they managed over 1000 instances on Amazon and was responsible for managing and coaching other DevOps professionals on the project, as well as assisting the QA and development teams with testing and deployment. Yevhen also created and updated components in the client's in-house tool, and created infrastructure using IaaS. Duma's skills included working with various technologies such as EC2, DynamoDB, Route53, IAM permissions, and S3, as well as developing and updating Python and Bash scripts.
In 2017, Duma joined Visma Latvia as a Lead DevOps Specialist, where their main task was to create a deployment pipeline to migrate projects from on-premises to the cloud using AWS. Yevhen successfully combined existing tools such as Git, TeamCity, Octopus, and AWS into one automated process using PowerShell scripting.
Duma then held various positions at different companies, including being a speaker at DevOps.Events in 2017, a Technical Manager/DevOps at FIC Network from 2018 to 2019, a DevOps Consultant at Go To-U in 2019, and a Lead DevOps at MeaWallet AS from 2017 to 2018, and then again from 2019 onwards. From 2017 to 2020, Duma worked as a DevOps Consultant at SQUADEX, where they won the AWS Gameday competition and was an active member of the AWS user group in Odesa.
In 2020, Duma became a DevOps Lead at Virtasant, where they continue to apply their expertise in leading DevOps practices.
In addition to their professional roles, Duma has also shared their knowledge and expertise through webinars and speaking engagements, including being a webinar speaker about DevOps basic tools at Web Academy programming courses in Kiev in 2020.
Yevhen Duma began their education at Lviv academic gymnasium from 1995 until 2002. Yevhen then attended State University 'Lviv Polytechnics' from 2002 to 2007, where they earned their Specialist degree in Information security. In 2003, they briefly attended the High school of public leadership, focusing on Leadership and economics.
In addition to their formal education, Yevhen Duma has also obtained several certifications. In November 2012, they received the certification for Master Linux Administration (General) from Brainbench. In August 2015, they obtained the DevOps Professional certification from Accenture. Finally, in July 2016, they became an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, certified by Amazon Web Services.
