Cyber Security Director at Virtuelle Group

Robert Kirtley has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of cybersecurity and information systems. Robert is currently the Director of Cyber Security at iDiscovery Solutions since February 2019. Prior to that, they served as the Executive Security Adviser at Virtuelle Group starting from September 2018.

In their previous roles, Robert worked as an Instructor at SANS Institute starting from July 2015, where they taught information security leadership essentials to advancing managers. Robert also served as a Member of the Board of Directors at ComplianceHR, a joint venture between Neota Logic and Littler Mendelson, starting from February 2015.

From July 2016 to February 2019, Robert was the Industry Manager - Technology and Cybersecurity at ONEtoONE Corporate Finance, where they advised private equity funds and other investors on technology and cybersecurity firms. Robert also worked as the President of Robert N. Kirtley Consulting, a cybersecurity and information systems consulting firm, from March 2016 to February 2019. In this role, they provided ongoing security consulting services to various firms and advised Boards of Directors on cybersecurity issues.

Before that, Robert held the position of Practice Leader, Management Consulting Group and Information Security & Governance at Kraft & Kennedy, Inc. from July 2014 to March 2016. Robert was responsible for developing strategy, designing operations and processes, and creating technology plans to improve firm effectiveness.

Robert has also worked at Duff & Phelps as a Managing Director from October 2004 to July 2014 and at Deloitte Consulting as a Partner from August 1992 to October 2004. Robert started their career as an Account Executive at Zenith Data Systems from June 1987 to July 1990.

Robert Kirtley holds an MBA degree in Finance and Strategy from The Wharton School, which they completed from 1990 to 1992. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Business/Finance from the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management from 1981 to 1986. In addition to their educational background, Robert has acquired several certifications in the field of information assurance and security, including the GSEC - GIAC Security Essentials, the US Department of Defense Directive 8570 - Information Assurance, Level II, the GSLC - GIAC Security Leadership Certification, and the US Department of Defense Directive 8570 - Information Assurance, Level III.
