Matthew Paff

Matthew Paff is a molecular biologist and data scientist with a strong background in both fields. Paff served as a Teaching Assistant and Graduate Research Assistant at The University of Texas at Austin from 2013 to 2017, where they conducted advanced research in viral engineering and data analysis using R and Python. They transitioned to industry roles, working as a Data Scientist at Nano and then as a Senior Data Scientist at Valkyrie, where they led diverse teams and collaborated on various analytics and machine learning projects. As of 2025, Paff is the Director of Data Science at VirtuousAI, continuing to leverage their expertise in data science and biology. They earned a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from The University of Texas at Austin.
