David Tait MBA has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. David Tait is currently serving as the Head of Security at VIRTUS Data Centres. Prior to this, they held the role of Regional Security Director at Citadel, where they designed and implemented security programs across Europe and Asia.
Before Citadel, David worked as a NED/Security Risk Advisor at Athena Risk, where they assisted commercial clients in identifying and mitigating threats to their business. David Tait also helped develop security risk management strategies based on ISO 31000 principles.
David's earlier experience includes roles such as Business Consultant at NEAH GES, Co-founder & Director at Graspan Frankton Ltd, and Maritime Security Risk Management at Protection Vessels International. David Tait also worked in facilities management at KBR, Inc. and served as a PSD Team Leader at Aegis Defence Services Ltd.
David began their career at the Commando Training Centre Royal Marines as an NCO MFC. Throughout their career, they have worked with various organizations and sectors, including the maritime industry, extractive industries, high net worth individuals, banking sector, aviation, and foreign governments.
David Tait MBA started their education journey in 2006 at The Open University, where they obtained a Certificate of Higher Education in Level 4 studies. David Tait later pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a specialization in Business Risk & Resilience at the University of the West of Scotland from 2016 to 2018. In the same year, they also earned a City & Guilds Level 5 certification in Security Risk Management Consultancy from PGI Bristol.
Additionally, David has obtained various certifications in different fields. In 2021, they obtained the CISMP (Certificate in Information Security Management Principles) from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. Furthermore, they have certifications in Business Risk and Crisis Management Level 5 from ATHE and GCHQ Certified Cyber Security & Insurance from AXIS Capital. David also holds a Management of Safety IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) Level 3 certification from IOSH. David Tait is also a licensed instructor and Security Close Protection Officer Level 3, certified by City & Guilds. Finally, they have a certification in Security Protective Search, Evacuation and Resources Denial Level 3 from NCFE.
