Yasindu Pathirana

Yasindu Pathirana has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as a Software Engineer at VirtuSense since 2023. Prior to this, they worked at the University of Nebraska at Omaha as a Graduate Assistant from 2021. During their time there, they developed a 3D tower defense game using Unity and utilized Doxygen for documentation and Jira for project management. Yasindu also integrated a CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins.

Before their role at the university, Yasindu worked as a Software Engineer at Sencore from 2019 to 2021. In this position, they successfully updated the OpenSSL version of the Sencore MRD7000 product and established a private Ubuntu repository for securely storing the company's private packages.

Additionally, Yasindu has experience working as a Student Worker at Erbert & Gerbert's Sandwich Shops from 2018 to 2019, where they resolved customer complaints, managed resources, trained new recruits, and answered their questions. Earlier in 2018, they also worked as a Student Worker at C-Store Collective, where they operated the cash register, managed tasks, resolved customer issues, and organized product displays.

Yasindu Pathirana graduated from Broward College in 2016 with an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Computer Science. After that, from 2016 to 2019, they attended South Dakota State University and obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science. In 2019, Yasindu Pathirana earned a certification in "Neural Networks and Deep Learning" from Coursera. Yasindu then pursued further education at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where they completed their Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science from 2021 to 2022. In 2022, Yasindu Pathirana obtained a certification in "Group 3: Social and Behavioral Course" from the CITI Program.
