Maureen Burger (MSN, RN, CPHQ, FACHE) is a highly qualified nurse clinician and administrator with specialties in safety, quality & risk management.

As the Chief Nursing Officer for Visante, Maureen delivers insights into macro, meso, and micro level nursing issues, especially around patients and medication safety. She provides leadership in our Drug Diversion team and participates in comprehensive pharmacy assessments for healthcare entities. In addition to work with hospitals and health systems, Maureen provides product development, marketing, and communication assistance to many clients in the drug and medical device industry. Prior to joining Visante in 2014, she has held positions of progressive responsibility at health systems including Indiana University Health, University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, and The Cleveland Clinic, as well as clinical positions at other institutions, and as a consultant with Joint Commission Resources.

Maureen received a Diploma in Nursing from Lutheran Medical Center School of Nursing in Cleveland OH, and later received a Master’s Degree in Critical Care Nursing from Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University. She is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality, and is recognized as a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. Maureen is a member of AONL, AACN, INS, NPSF, ACHE, and the IHFDA. She is a founding member of the National Coalition for IV Push Safety (www.ncivps.org), and is a frequent speaker and author on topics related to medication safety and drug diversion.
