Michael Cody is a process engineer who has been with Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. since June 2018. Michael is currently the director at Vishay. Michael has been instrumental in creating and maintaining Excel dashboards using SQL queries and an Access database to monitor the outputs of multiple processes manufacturing thousands of parts monthly in order to identify and fix process inefficiencies. Michael has also developed and delivered weekly, monthly, yearly, and ad-hoc reports on yield and production data pulled from proprietary and Access databases for presentation to plant management and international division directors.
In addition, Michael built a streamlined calculator app in Excel for floor operator use that consolidated the previously used 8 calculators that were pulling data from two separate databases into one centralized calculator that eliminated 10% of all operator error plant-wide. Michael also holds full engineering ownership of a process line creating $300K in tantalum capacitors yearly, achieving an increase in average weekly yield for all parts in the line by 2-3% per year and reducing average weekly losses by ~30% in 2020 and 2021. Finally, they designed and implemented a problem lot management system in conjunction with the Quality department to improve the flow and retention of information and reduce time spent on paperwork by 40%.
Michael Cody has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Binghamton University, as well as a certification from SixSigma.us in Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.
