John (Zhichen) Guo has a diverse work experience. John (Zhichen) began their career in 2007 as a Research and Development Assistant at Beijing ACCB Biotech Ltd., where they developed the screening test for early and medium-term cancer by detecting the expression of several important tumor marker genes in human blood serum. John (Zhichen) also had extensive experience on total RNA extraction from human blood serum and plasma samples, and mouse tissues (heart, liver, lung, brain), and human cell lines, as well as reverse transcription and realtime-qPCR. In 2009, they moved to Beijing GP Medical Technologies, Ltd. as a Research and Development Assistant, where they developed the Tumor-Specific Gene Amplification Detecting Kits and was skilled in molecular biology techniques, including primer design, bacteria culturing and plasmid DNA extraction. In 2019, they became a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where they hosted office hour, assignments, code reviews and debugging, answered questions, and prepared questions for exams. John (Zhichen) also hosted a project that included preparing assignments for AI algorithms (Python), developing tests with unittest, and code grading with Gradescope Autograder, as well as hosting a Kaggle competition. Most recently, in 2020, they became a Software Developer at VISIMO, where they built a mobile app called Celeri Assistant, which is an all-in-one tool for managing how a child should be picked up from school. John (Zhichen) also built a website to help teachers manage the dismissal process every day and designed and built Django backend with standardized RESTful API endpoints.

John (Zhichen) Guo has a diverse educational background. From 2017 to 2020, they obtained a Master of Science in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology. From 2013 to 2016, they earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. From 2003 to 2007, they earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology. In addition, John has obtained several certifications, including a Full Stack Software Developer Professional Certificate from Coursera in July 2022, a SAS Certified Advanced Programmer for SAS 9 from SAS in August 2019, and a SAS Certified Base Programmer for SAS 9 from SAS in August 2016.
