Allison Akers

Allison Akers has a diverse work experience in marketing and communications roles. Allison started their career as an Intern at DC Artists Management in 2008 and later worked as a Marketing Intern at EMI-CMG in 2009. Allison then ventured into sports photography at Diamondback from 2007 to 2010. Allison transitioned to customer care at The Charmer Sunbelt Group in 2011 and moved on to grassroots marketing at Road Runner Sports until 2013. Their career progressed as they became a Marketing Communications and Social Media Specialist at Maryland Judiciary from 2013 to 2016. Allison continued their marketing journey as a Marketing and Outreach Manager at Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation (AAEDC) from 2016 to 2021, where they honed their skills. Currently, Allison is serving as the Director of Marketing and Communications at Vision Technologies, bringing their wealth of experience to the role since 2021.

Allison Akers completed their Bachelor of Science in Marketing with a focus on Music Management Fellows at the University of Maryland in 2010. In 2022, they graduated with a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications from West Virginia University. Additionally, they hold a Certificate in Digital Marketing Strategies: Data, Automation, AI & Analytics from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management. Allison has also obtained various certifications in content marketing, SEO, and visual campaigns from platforms like LinkedIn and Semrush.
