Ziva Urlep

Ziva Urlep has a diverse work experience spanning from 2008 to the present. Ziva started as a Trainee at the European Commission in 2008 and later worked as a Stagiaire at the Council of the European Union in 2012. In 2013, they interned at both the Embassy of Germany and the Goethe-Institut e.V. Ziva also volunteered at EuroBasket 2013, where they were responsible for media and VIP accreditations.

From 2012 to 2014, they worked as a Freelance Translator for KIBORD translation agency, translating protocol correspondence and promotional material for the City of Ljubljana. Ziva also worked on a translation project for In Your Pocket city guides.

In 2014, Ziva became a Tax Consultant at Deloitte, where they provided consultancy on tax and legal aspects of business, monitored new developments in tax legislation, and prepared translations of relevant CJEU judgments. Ziva also worked as a Freelance Translator and Reviser at Sandoz in 2014.

Ziva then joined Translavic in 2013 as a Freelance Translator and Reviser, a role they held until 2018. During this time, they worked on various translation projects.

Currently, they work at Visionect as the Head of Office, where they are responsible for developing organizational procedures and systems, managing employee schedules, and troubleshooting conflicts. Ziva also serves as a Channel Support Specialist for the JOAN product.

Ziva Urlep's education history began in 2000 when they attended Gimnazija Vic and obtained their Matura (baccalaureate equivalent) degree. From 2004 to 2008, they pursued undergraduate studies in Translation at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Arts. In 2005, they participated in a summer school program at Yale University with a focus on ESL. In 2009 and 2010, Ziva completed their Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Translation (Slovenian-English-German) at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Arts. Finally, from 2012 to 2014, they pursued their second Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Global Studies at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Social Sciences.
