Jim Ayre

Director, Strategic Initiatives at VisionLink

Jim Ayre has had a varied career in technology and the music industry. From 1999 to 2000, they were a Freelance Web Developer for the Future of Music Coalition, where they helped plan and deploy their initial website and created a web-based event management platform for their annual Policy Summit. From 2000 to 2004, they worked at the Telecommunications Industry Association as a Trade Show Webmaster. During this time, they also worked as a Web Content Manager for the Council on Foundations from 2004 to 2006. From 2006 to 2009, they were a self-employed musician, recording three records with a four-piece semi-acoustic group and touring the U.S., Europe, and England. From 2009 to 2017, they worked for the American Red Cross, first as a Manager of Recovery Services, then as an Implementation Lead for Long Term Recovery Programs. In 2017, they joined Visionlink Software & Consulting as Director of Strategic Initiatives and Director of Disaster Technology, where they delivered technology solutions in support of federally-funded disaster and immigration programs, state and county government agencies, and voluntary organizations.

Jim Ayre attended George Mason University from 1990 to 1994, where they earned a B.A. in Speech Communications.
