Big Bear isn’t only a mountain destination, it’s a community powered by adventure, stewardship, and year-round connection. At Visit Big Bear, we champion tourism that supports local businesses, strengthens community events, and protects the natural landscapes that define our region.

Visit Big Bear is the official destination marketing and stewardship organization for Big Bear Lake, California, a four-season alpine destination welcoming nearly 7.5 million visitors annually. Located just two hours from Los Angeles in the San Bernardino Mountains, Big Bear offers a rare combination of accessibility, outdoor recreation, and mountain culture across 823,826 acres of national forest and a 22-mile freshwater lake.

Sitting at 6,752 feet in elevation with more than 300 days of sunshine each year, Big Bear is home to winter ski seasons, year-round outdoor adventure, and more than 3,100 unique lodging experiences ranging from cozy A-frames to lakefront resorts. With easy access from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Ontario International Airport (ONT), Palm Springs International Airport (PSP), and John Wayne Airport (SNA), Big Bear continues to serve as Southern California’s premier mountain escape.

Beyond the landscape, Visit Big Bear is committed to elevating tourism by prioritizing community, conservation, and long-term sustainability. We actively support and promote local events, partner with community organizations, and help amplify the experiences that bring residents and visitors together.

There’s the ordinary mountain town experience. Then there’s the Big Bear kind.
