Mohan Rao has a wealth of experience in the technology industry. Mohan started their career in 2005 as a Software Engineer at AOL LLC (formerly America Online Inc.), where they developed a Sponsor Link Server. In 2006, they were promoted to Senior Engineer, where they developed an ETag-based solution that increased performance and scalability of the blog product. In 2009, they moved to Aha Mobile as a Senior Web Developer, where they worked on an iPhone app. In 2010, they joined Cisco Systems as a Product Manager for Social Media, where they launched award-winning social media products and programs, resulting in a savings of $400K in support costs annually. In 2011, they worked at TiE as a Social Media Marketing Manager. In 2013, they founded StoryTruck, a Netflix-like service for Children’s books. In 2014, they worked as a Product Management Consultant at VisitorsCoverage Inc., where they analyzed data from web properties to identify synergies, recommend features or new products, and launch them. In 2016, they joined EdCast Inc. as Director of Product Management. In 2017, they returned to VisitorsCoverage Inc., where they held the roles of Chief Technology Officer, Director of Engineering, and Managing Engineering and Product. Mohan also worked at Sayantek in 2017, where they built IoT Solutions.

Mohan Rao attended Kendriya Vidyalaya from 1979 to 1989. Mohan then attended the University of Mysore from 1989 to 1993, where they earned a BE in Computer Science. After that, they attended Santa Clara University from 2006 to 2009, where they earned an MBA in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies. Most recently, they attended Stanford University in 2017 and earned a Product Management in IoT certification.
